What a crew!

We wrapped up our ancient civilization inquiry by checking out ancient Egyptian artifacts at the museum.

What a day!

Sixth graders are focusing on religion and how it influences our modern world.

We began our journey with a look at Judaism.

This particular day we focused on Hanukkah.

The Star of David is a Jewish symbol.

Yana took action and made a Hanukkah memory game.

Payne and Olive enjoyed a game of dreidel.

We were recently invited to carve pumpkins at Kingwood Center.  The kids had a blast!

Sixth grade completed the rock cycle with chocolate.

We made sediment by scraping and grating milk chocolate, dark chocolate and peanut butter chips.  

We made our sedimentary rock into a metamorphic rock by applying heat and pressure.

We completed the cycle by creating an igneous rock. We melted our rocks in hot water and let them cool.

It’s hard to believe we are in our third week of school!  I am so excited to get to work with this great group of kids.  We are going to accomplish wonderful things this year!
